Assistance Dog Training

Our canine assisted activities monthly sessions are full of dog themed games and activities for under 25's and their families from the local (nottinghamshire) comunity. For more information please click here. 

We offer an assistance dog training program to under 25's with any additional needs. We have 3 intakes a year and work with the young person directly to ensure we train their dog up to meet their specific needs. To find out more click here.

Paws in Tents

We host several traiing days a year in the East Midlands. Training days are like minature camps. We have some assistance dog workshops, canine assisted activities and other activities to do. For more information please click here. 

We support the assessment and training of therapy dogs to work within specific organisations such as schools or disability organisations.  Therapy dogs are owned by an employee or volunteer within the organisation. For more information click here.

Paws in Tents is an inclusive camping holiday for under 25's with additional needs. Various activities run at camp including dog training workshops, arts and crafts, sensory bus, yoga, magic show camp cafe and more. For more information click here.

Here at Pawsitive Squad CIC we offer a variety of services for young people with additional needs, other organisations and the general public. As a community interest company we are non profit. Any profits (called surplus) we recieve is reinvested into our services for young people with additional needs.

For young people with additional needs living in Nottinghamshire we offer an assistance dog training program, in which we support you the young person and their family in training their dog to help mitigate the impact of their disability. Young people with any type of disability are welcome to join us. We also offer a weekly canine assisted activity class for young people with additional needs who would like to do activities with their dog or who don't own a dog but would like to interact with dogs. 

For the local community in Nottinghamshire we host monthly canine assisted activity mornings. These sessions are open to all young people under 25, their families and dog. These sessions are all about getting the community together, promoting equality and inclusion and having fun. We also regularly hold puppy courses and general obedience courses. We also occassional host events such as dog shows which are open to the public.

For other organisations we have a therapy dog program where we train an organisation employee/volunteers own dog up as a therapy dog to work within their organisation. We will assess and train dogs to be therapy dogs for any organisation which, in some form, supports under 25's with disabilities. Your organisation can work with other customer groups as well. We also offer talks and demonstrations to any organisation and dog safety training to schools and youth groups.

For young people with additional needs living anywhere in the country we offer our Paws in Tents camping holidays and training days. We also offer some online programs specifically for young people with additional needs.

Training Days

Talks and demonstrations

Our talks and demos are open to all other organisations & businesses. These are tailored to the organisation. The cost of these is charged on a sliding scale depending on type of organisation & audience size.

Online training

We offer several online training programs a year which are mostly ran through facebook and run on set dates. We are currently developing online training programs which can be joined at any time and worked through at your own pace.

Our peer mentor program is a cross between a service and volunteer role. Our peer mentor program is open to any child aged 5 - 17 years old. Our peer mentors are trained to support other young people in our weekly & monthly session & camp. 

Dog safety sessions

Our dog safety sessions are open to schools and youth groups. The sessions are jam packed with games and activities to teach children how to be safe around dogs. This service is charged (from free) on a sliding scale depending on type of organisation.
