      <title>In person introduction Course (20 Aug 2026)</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Our in person introduction course is a 3 session course for people wishing to join our assistance dog program.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The two sessions on the 20th of August are in person practical dog training sessions.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The session on the 21st of August is a lunch time theory session which will be held in a cafe environment. This is a no dog session where we will show you through the program resources, talk about how the program works and a Q&amp;amp;A opportunity.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This session costs £85 per dog. &lt;em&gt;(This is more than the virtual options due to smaller group size).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font color="#373737"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Eligibility:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font color="#373737"&gt;This course is open to disabled people aged 0 - 60 years old who:&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;Are (D)deaf, disabled or neurodivergent.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Face significant barriers to safety, independence or community engagement and can evidence this &lt;em&gt;(e.g. through PIP/DLA mid or high care or high mobility award, GP letter etc).&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Do not hold any potential conflict of interest including are not dog trainers&amp;nbsp; including voluntarily (or training to be a dog trainer or similar)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/em&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;To attend your dog must:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;Be fully vaccinated (only kennel cough vaccine is optional).&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Be aged 14 weeks to 6 years old.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Receive vet prescribed flea and wormer.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Not be raw fed.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Have public liability (sometimes call third party) insurance.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Not be reactive (this means not bark, growl or lunge at people or other dogs.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Be microchipped in your name &amp;amp; current address.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Attendees:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;To manage distractions &amp;amp; space, only 1 parent/PA/ partner/ support person may attend with the handler(s)*,&amp;nbsp; except:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;siblings/children when you have no other child care&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;where evidence is provided the handler requires 2:1 care in the community.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;*may be multiple disabled people within the household the dog would be trained to support.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font color="#373737"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Please note:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;The trainer will be attending with her 9 year old child who is profoundly disabled.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
